Caffeine vs. Baby

Unfortunately my migraines have decided to come back. Which of course means that I needed some caffeine to help. Even more unfortunate than the migraines is the, at the time, unknown fact that caffeine does pass into the milk and then on to the baby. So yesterday poor Kaelen couldn't sleep at all. She went 7 hours before sleeping for just an hour. Thankfully it would appear that the caffeine is out of both our systems.

Now, I'm thinking, if caffeine can get into the milk, could not also Chamomile and Anise? Chamomile is good for a ton of stuff like relaxing and working as an anti-inflammatory. Anise is very good against flatulence, which would be a very good thing for babies.

*Just for clarification: I am not refering to the alcohol Anise, but the herbal tea. =)

What things have you eaten or drank while nursing that you noticed had a direct affect on you baby?

Hail Squishy!

.
When Finding Nemo came out some friends and I thought that Dory calling the little jellyfish 'Squishy' was hilarious. "I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy. Come on, Squishy Come on, little Squishy."
Anywho, my friend had this squishy snow globe much like the one in the picture to the left. And we would, for some odd reason that we never did figure out, say "Hail Squishy!" and thereupon laugh endlessly. Ah, what can I say? We were easily amused.

Just For Fun

So...I decided that I would just start writing things down. They won't necessarily be important things, but they will be written nonetheless. It is too hard to pick and choose which things to write about to 'updadte' everyone on my present life on top of the newsletter, and it seems a bit repetitive. As such, most everything here will not appear in our newsletter.
Feel free to comment, or to not, but I would very much like to hear your own random thoughts! =)
If you notice that I haven't posted in a while, give me a poke and I'll get right on it.
Enjoy!
